Tesla Cybertruck's Odd Shape May Deserve This Equally Angular Garage Design

In all the hullabaloo over the Tesla Cybertruck—from the supposedly bulletproof windows to the stainless-steel sheetmetal to the polarizing design—people may forget that the monstrosity is a big truck, albeit one that can hit 60 from a standstill in 2.9 seconds.
 

The problem with many trucks is that they aren't made to fit well in most garages, with the truck's height and length often making it a tough fit, even in a space that can seem cavernous when a family sedan is parked inside. The Cybertruck, for all its merits, has an angular shape and extended length that are ill suited to the small rectangular space of an average garage. This is the problem that the design firm Lars Büro has decided to tackle. Its solution is called the Cybunker, and it's not just a fantasy; the company claims it is serious about building these high-tech garages. 

The building is known as an "accessory dwelling unit," a fancy way of describing a garage that can hold all your toys and has space for you to sleep, similar to a garage space offered for sale at some racetracks. The total space is 2400 square feet, with 600 being dedicated to the garage portion of the unit, where you would presumably park your Cybertruck. The other 1800 square feet of space can be used as an apartment, commercial space, studio, or whatever the owner desires.

The design of the Cybunker is best described as futuristic and modern, with strong design cues drawn from the Cybertruck. By design cues we mean triangles and wedges. The steel monocoque structure is supposed to be able to withstand the harshest of conditions in true bunker style; there's an option for bulletproof windows and an airlock. The structure can be completely off the grid and self-sustaining, as it has a battery system at the base and solar panels on the roof. Aston Martin has done something along the same lines, with a personalized garage space for the Aston Martin owner who can afford to have it all.

Lars Buro doesn’t have any details on pricing or availability yet. For the 1-percenter who is also a doomsday preparer and a Cybertruck owner, this could be perfect, even if it's a financial and aesthetic stretch for the average truck owner. Will this spylike fortress of solitude go from a sketch to a real-life building? We'll watch and see.
